Today I visited the A & E as I had badly stubbed my toe, twice. Although I felt embarrassed at doing such a silly thing it was very very sore and I thought it might well be broken. I was greeted and my details processed very quickly and efficiently. The atmosphere was calm and reassuring. I was seen by a compassionate guy who rapidly referred me for an x-Ray. This was done by two gentle ladies and I was back in the reception area pronto. Finally my nurse took me to meet the consultant who explained their findings, prescribed some meds and what else I should do and I was out paying the car park charge in just over an hour. Which was £3 by the way. I am so grateful to all those kind professionals and so proud we have them working here for us in Lincolnshire. This department of this hospital is tops in my book. Thank you everyone. Little things mean a lot when you are in pain, and although it was obviously a quiet time, the confidence of the team communicated itself to the patients. There was no judgment, no hassle, no rush, just kindness and efficiency. These are qualities not every institution manages to foster, so I came home feeling 100% better. What a good decision I made today. Many thanks to you all.
