"Maternity Ward"

About: Princess Royal Hospital (Haywards Heath)

I had my baby by ceserean at Princess Royal and the treatment i received was fantastic.. I came for a routine scan on the Tuesday, that day they realised that baby was not in a good position should my waters break as i was coming to full term. They booked me in for a c-section the next day and i stayed in that night for my steroid shot in prep for the op. The staff were extremely good at keeping me calm as everything happened so quickly and i wasnt due for another 3 weeks. They were fantastic though at keeping me calm from start to finish and we even had a bit of a giggle with the team in the operating room which made things much easier and a nicer experiance for me and my partner as it was our first baby. The after care was really good, i was struggling to feed my baby myself which i really wanted to do so they supported me really well and kept me in for 4 days until i felt confident to go home and do things for myself. The only downside would be that because i was in for 4 days i saw a lot of staff change overs due to shifts etc and i did have to explain to each member when they started their shift what my concerns were with feeding etc so this was a little annoying having to keep repeating myself, however this is obviously going to happen when i was in there so long when normaly you'd be sent home within a day or two. I would certainly recommend the maternity ward here and will deffinitely be going back if i have a second child one day. The staff were great, clean hospital, and they were also very flexible with my family coming to visit me and allowing my partner to stay with me most of the time even though i was in the ward and not in a private room. Well done to everyone ate Princess Royal, you do a fab job!
