"I was surprised to find out that ..."

About: Basildon University Hospital

(as a relative),

What could be improved

I was surprised to find out that my Father had a not to resuscitate order on his notes and no one told my family about this. This also happended on the second time he was admitted to the hospital. Also he was not given an air mattress even though his waterlow score

was 25 and and he was a high risk. We were told he would get one. It never came and my father sadly died with very little dignity. I report a few things that should come under basic care.

Anything else?

The hospital have some really good nurses who were kind and always helpful. The porter in A & E was really nice and went out of his way to get a pillow and blanket as he was waiting so long.
