I am so disappointed in the help and support for victims after a rape. Not only was I not able to visit a supposed '24 hour' centre, the Whitechapel Haven, due to the nurse not wanting to come in, but also in my time of need directed to a high street pharmacist rather than seeing someone who is trained.

I rang a helpline a short while after it happened, once I felt ready to speak about it and was over the phone put through a series of humiliating questions, that I was not comfortable answering over the phone including "what makes you think you have been raped".

We are very concerned to read your comments about our service as we very much want victims of rape to be able to access help and support. If you feel able to we would encourage you to contact us to let us know in more detail what happened when you sought to access the service. Our email contact is kch-tr.pals@nhs.net or the Service Manager, Joanne Holberry could be contacted through our switchboard 0203 299 9000. The Haven is open 24 hours but it operates an appointment only service (which is stated on the Haven website) and a key function is to provide a medical examination in a supportive environment. High street pharmacy services clearly can provide emergency contraception but if counselling and we are extremely sorry that if you were seeking additional support/counselling you were unable to access it.
