"Nobody answering the phone at weekends"

My friend was admitted to this hospital after an accident. Despite countless phone calls from me and relatives we were unable to get a response from the ward. This caused a great deal of anxiety and distress for us and for my friend who was unable to call us. It resulted in long journeys being made to see if all was well. This is unacceptable and needs to be investigated to prevent this from happening again.
