After telephoning 111 on Saturday morning my wife was referred to the Out of Hours Service at The Royal Hampshire where she was seen after a very short wait and then admitted to the McGill Unit. I waited with my wife and although it was about four hours before she was seen by a doctor in the meantime she was very well looked after by the nursing staff. She was also given an ECG and blood tests. She was eventually seen by a duty doctor, with whom we were very impressed. He was very polite and listened patiently and attentively to my wife's answers to his questions and then gave a very clear explanation of his diagnosis of the problem. After discussion with a consultant they decided to keep my wife in over night for further monitoring and she was discharged this morning. During my long wait yesterday I could not help but notice the caring way in which patients were treated by the medical and nursing staff.
"Excellent treatment in the McGill Unit"
