My nanna was sent to a&e by ambulance and whilst we was waiting to be seen the members of staff between both shifts actually shocked me. An elderly lady in the bed next to us was constantly shouting for a staff member, they all looked at her and walked away. Because of the ignorance I went over to a member of staff and said 'that elderly lady is asking for assistance' the nurse sighed at me, didn't speak and went back to doing her paper work. After 53 minutes of the woman asking for assistance, sometimes even shouting and her crying she finally got spoken to, all she wanted to ask was when her transport was arriving. The woman nurse who spoke to this lady said 'it wont be long so just shut up and give us a break'. I was absolutely disgusted in the attitude of the staff. When my nanna was finally discharged at 2am I made it very clear that I was making a complaint about what I had witnessed over my 6 hours in A&E.
"disgusting"
