"Ward 34 staff treated my dad with ..."

About: Royal Lancaster Infirmary

(as a relative),

What I liked

Ward 34 staff treated my dad with dignity, tenderness, care and humour and made a dreadful time bearable.

What could be improved

Support for the staff from managers. They are short-staffed, short of functioning equipment and taken for granted. Management need to be aware of what a wonderful job their staff do under far from ideal conditions. More management staff need to spend time on the wards (particularly evenings and weekends) to see the impact of understaffing on staff and patients alike.
