What I liked
Staff nurses in Outpatients Department are polite and helpful at all times.
Outpatient Department is clean and well designed, plenty of seating.
What could be improved
The Neurologist who did my Nerve Conduction Study/ EMG was almost an hour late and never bothered to appologise to his patients.
He was not very friendly and called me a "coward" just because I am not keen on needles! I felt that his comment was totally unnecessary and unprofessional and made me feel more nervous than before I saw him! I could not wait to get out of there!
He forced my leg in an upwards direction even though it was so painful when he inserted the needles and would not go upwards any further than I could move it.
He had absolutely no compassion for his patients and the procedure where he put the needles in and forced my leg/foot to move with his own hand was so painful, in fact the most painful thing I have had to go through with a doctor. It was total agony.
He did not insert the one needle correctly in the right place and it rubbed on my bone, making it excruciating to move my foot/leg for the EMG test.
He never bothered to wash his hands nor wear any gloves before inserting the EMG needles even though he is exposing himself and his patients to bodily fluids that could potentially be fatal. Not good for a professional. Very unprofessional and unhygienic, putting patients at risk.
He was not very thorough in the testing either.
I certainly would not recommend him and am considering having this procedure repeated somewhere else by another Neurologist as I am less than satisfied with his service he tried to provide but failed.
