"Aftercare"

Had hip replacement 21st March 2014. Operation and 1st 24 hrs excellent. After that the care and attitude was poor. Due to problems with my none operated leg I had difficulty getting around and I felt that the staff were not interested with helping me. I struggled but my willpower got me through the 3 days I was in. Very little sleep due to opposite main door ,open with lights on and comings and goings 24 hrs.Was discharged with weeping painfull wound and no extra dressiing. Had to call out district nurse 4 times to redress wound and remove staples. On discharge from ward, nurse was adament that I did not have staples in but perishable stitches.Previously I have had hip andf knee replacements at Goole treatment centre and the after treatment by the staff was far superior. It seems the staff are understaffed and rushed off there feet, giving little time to the patients.
