Have had two children at UCLH, after first I thought it was ok. After 2nd baby I vowed to never return. Being a high risk pregnancy patient I had to have specific care during and after delivery. When I arrived with my second child I was in extreme pain and the midwives stood around looking through papers and totally ignoring my presence not even acknowledging the fact that I was standing there practically in tears. I was then told to lay down by the most patronising midwife ever so she could examine me and then got irritated when I refused as I was in too much pain- she then decided to bend down and have a look at which point all hell broke loose as lo behold she could see the baby's head and was aware that I was a high risk patient. I was then rushed into the delivery room where I gave birth. My son required antibiotics after birth and I has to stay for a week. I was constantly being told different things by doctors, nobody was keeping me informed of anything. I was told a dr would come to see me in the afternoon and when the afternoon had passed I called the midwife who told me that the dr had gone home. One night I went to use the toilet and there was blood on the floor so I told the midwife and she said "there's nothing I can do about it, go and find another toilet" So I had to go and find a different toilet at 1am. Most of the midwives had no time for me, were rude, unfriendly and unpleasant. I found this on both occasions. Especially the night duty nurses. The cleaners and dinner ladies were the friendliest and the nurse who administered my son his antibiotics. The experience has left me worried about giving birth again- it was such a horrifying and stressful experience. I would not go back there and do not recommend it.
"Disgraceful and will never go back"
