"Non existent parking"

About: Cumberland Infirmary

Visited for outpatient appointment and it took me 30 minutes of driving around the hospital to have to finally give up hope of finding a parking space. I had to park, like many others, wherever I could without a: blocking access to hospital b: causing damage to my car by bumping on to pavement and c: without blocking in other visitors. The lack of parking makes visiting the hospital a frustrating experience as you have to add extra time to the hour long journey knowing that it will take some time to park. A multi storey facility would eradicate this. Staff at appointment were excellent.

Thank you for contacting us with these concerns, we apologise unreservedly for the current situation and any distress caused to you and your family and wish to thank you for your consideration in resolving the problem on the day. We acknowledge that the car parking facilities at The Cumberland Infirmary are inadequate for the increased demand over recent months and years. We have been working hard to consider options for the required improvements in order to relieve the angst and frustration for both the community we serve and our staff alike. As all options require significant investment, we are seeking to ensure that improvements represent the best possible use of funds and hope to move forward with this in the very near future. Thank you for your positive feedback regarding the staff at your appointment, this is greatly appreciated With kind regards Alison Patient Experience
