What I liked

nothing

What could be improved

the whole service, my 13month old daughter was taken to this hospital, by AMBULANCE. We where onn holiday from the Isle of Man and she took ill, the staff at the hospital said to us, BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT LOCAL SO WE CAN NOT TREAT YOU. I was really angry about this because she had had a fit and we where hundreds of miles away from home. we had to cancel the rest of our holiday and return to the isle of man. i wouldnt reccommend this hospital to anyone the service we got was DISGUSTING all because we where not local. Evevn are local GP was disgusted.

It is difficult to comment wihtout more details as it is normal practice for patients attending our Emergency Department to be seen and given treatment and/or advice according to their clinical condition. Holiday makers can also seek the assistance of a local GP as a temporary resident if they become ill whilst away from home.

The Trust aims to provide the best service to all of its patients. The brief details which you have provided suggest that these arrangements did not prove satisfactory but without clarification of the situation we are unable to respond accurately. If you would like any further discussion, please contact our Customer Care Manager on 01539 716 621.
