"I was a patient at the james paget ..."

About: James Paget University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was a patient at the james paget hospital dermatology department.

I was put on a waiting list to be called back if an earlier appointment became available. I was called back with an earlier appointment.

What could be improved

Due to a member of staff being discriminating, I made a complaint about the department. I was not treated with respect by the department that deals with complaints as they hardly ever contacted me to tell me the progress that was being made with my complaint, and after 5 months they still havn't been able to sort it out!

After I complained they tried to 'fob me off' with attempts to try and make me drop the case. Even the chief executive tried to fob me off, then didn't reply to my further e-mails!

After I threatened to contact the healthcare commission, it was suddenly decided that it would be good for me to visit the hospital to have a meeting. They tried to say that nothing untoward had probably been said and it had probably been my interpretation of what had been said that was the problem.

Anything else?

Complete waste of time.

If you feel that you really need to complain about your treatment (whichever department you are using), do not let yourself be fobbed off!
