"Emergency Epac Scan"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

I was admitted to the EPAC unit from A and E, upon finding out I was pregnant and having a heavy bleed. Having lost a baby a few months before, I was devestated and convinced the same thing was happening again. I saw a nurse on 4th March, at 15:20pm, and I just want to comment on how respectful, kind, and considerate she was. She showed me everything she was looking at with my baby, and reassured me everything was fine, my baby was in the correct place and correct size with a good heartbeat. I would really like her to be recognised for this, as although I know this is her job, she went the extra mile and really reassured a worried couple. She was considerate and was always asking me I was comfortable. People have told me the ladies who do the scans go quiet and dont involve you atall, but I didn't feel this with this lady atall. We now have a baby girl on the way, who has been snug inside for 15 weeks, and It's been a stress free pregnancy Since. Thankyou to the kind nurse, and I can't agree atall with some other peoples comments. The nurses here are amazing, so much respect for them and the amazing job they do. Thankyou.

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment on your recent experience with us here at Medway. I have passed your comments onto our nurse practitioner in EPAC and I am sure that they will go a long way in continuing to motivate her to deliver such a high standard of care. I wish you all the best with your pregnancy and if we can be of help in the future please contact us Karen McIntyre Head of Maternity
