What I liked
The dinner lady who was kind enough to ask why I was not eating and showed me how to breastfeed and bath my new born.
What could be improved
Food was awful. Service was non-existent
Anything else?
Was referred to Chase Farm from Barnet hospital as Barnet was full when I was about to have my baby. The midwife who saw me initially was extremely hostile. I was experiencing serious labour pains but she threw the wrap round tummy baby monitor at me to strap it round my waist myself. Thankfully my sister was there to help me. I was left for hours after that and when my baby was coming, my sister rushed out to call them. It was panic, I couldn't be moved to the delivery suites, they were running up and down having forgotten one thing or the other. They didn't know what time the baby came but thankfully my sister noted the time. I teared badly and needed stitches, the consultant was stitching me up but had to leave me half way to attend to someone else who's baby had shoulder dislocation. I don't know how many minutes I was left with my legs open as I was high on gas and air. I was moved into a ward, not post delivery though as it was full but it was alright. The pad on my bed was stained from blood from my stitches overnight but when I asked for a clean one the next day, no one gave me one and I did not get it until I left the hospital. So I had to lie on it having placed all my already soiled clothing on the pad. Not sure anyone knew when I left the hospital with my baby, I just packed my bags and left though they had told me since the morning that I could go. I left late afernoon. Told my husband that if I have to go to Chase Farm again, he'll have to deliver the baby at home himself. Never again.
