"Great A&E care for a cut above my right eye"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I fell and banged my head which caused a cut above my right eye. It bled quite freely at first but I was able to staunch this. I decided to visit A&E, because the bleeding kept weeping. I should add that it was a Saturday and my doctor surgery was closed.

There were quite a few people waiting at A&E when I arrived and I assumed that the wait would be long, but this was not the case. I was treated as if I was the only patient there. At first I felt like a fraud as I only head a cut forehead. The duty doctor pointed out to me that as I had banged my head, there was a possibility of a more serious outcome and proceeded to outline the sort of symptoms that I might experience. If I did notice any then I was advised to report back to A&E as soon as possible. I was given a couple of advice leaflets, which were very informative. The attention I received was first class.

I have visited this A&E a couple of times with my wife and the treatment has always been superb, with no stone left unturned to ensure that we were given the best possible medical attention.
