My Mum was in a lot of pain so I telephoned the waiting list secretary who was amazing. For this initial contact we received friendly, professional service which continued throughout Mum's care.
The pre-admission visit went well with every member of the team clear about their role and explained this well to both Mum and myself. Despite being a qualified nurse what the Golden Jubilee team allowed me to be was a daughter as I had total confidence in everyone carrying out their job and working as a very good team.
Mum's surgery went well and I was staying in the hotel when there was a fire! ! Again the communication and reassurance was second to none and the Nurse Director was hands on both giving the staff praise for their actions whilst reassuring relatives such as myself.
The little touches such as free tea and coffee whilst having to wait gave a personal touch despite this being nobody's fault. The medical and nursing staff were excellent but also the lovely ladies in the canteen who would ask me how my Mum was doing - little things like that make a big difference.
The Golden Jubilee has a well deserved good reputation and I am so pleased my Mum had surgery there despite it not being our local hospital. Indeed, both my Mum and Dad have strongly expressed a preference for this should further surgery be required.
Thank you for giving me the confidence to know my Mum was well looked after and also caring for me as a daughter.
