There always seems bad press with reference to the treatment of patients at the Queen Alexandra Hospital (QAH) that I thought I would contact you directly, I hope you don’t mind. I am 67 years of age and was recently given a new finger joint. this is my 3rd replacement finger joint. I have Hereditary Multiple Exostosis which has left me with very painful arthritic joints. This surgery procedure was once again carried out by a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. I have to say how impressed and satisfied I was with the service I received. I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for all the help I was given during my visit. First of all, if I had paid privately I would not have got better treatment. The care and consideration that was shown to me was very welcoming. Secondly, my thanks go to the staff on The Day Surgery Unit, they are a credit to The Hospital including the volunteers who do a marvellous job. I have been a regular patient, mostly in Orthopaedics all my life, dating back to the days of the old Royal Portsmouth Hospital of years gone by and have to say that I have seen continual improvements over the many years. I for one appreciate the fact that we are now able to choose where to go for treatment and I will always choose the QAH.
