My mother was impressed with the treatment and care that she received in Iris Ward. She is 90 and every effort was made for her to feel comfortable and to try to recover quickly from her illness. She appreciated that the ward was busy and most days there were people leaving and new people arriving and that the nurses had to work very hard. Nevertheless she also noticed that the doctors and nurses were always very polite, caring, tactful and interested in her general well being. I also found the nursing staff to be very efficient. Arrangements were even made for a chiropodist to come in as it was noted that her toe nails needed attention. I live in France and made several phone calls to the hospital from the night of her admission and during her first few days in Iris ward. I was each time put through very quickly. Once I had been identified I was provided with very good information regarding my mother and everyone was extremely helpful. This was a great relief to me. I also noticed during the week that I visited my mother that there was a very good atmosphere between all the nursing staff and I feel sure that this contributed to the improvement in my mother's health. No one wants to be in hospital but my mother keeps very good memories of her positive experiences at the King George Hospital and the care she received. Thank you.
