"Appalling"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

I arrived home at 3pm after an 11am appointment for an eye test. I received no information in the post to tell me I wouldn't be able to drive for 2 hours after the tests and as I live in Huddersfield and was on my own this was a major problem. At one point I had a reaction to the drops which were put in my eyes. I could not keep them open due to excruciating pain (think sand being rubbed in your eyeballs) to which the optician said 'Do you want me to do these tests or not, you're being rude and awkward and I'm doing my best?' What? She sent back to the waiting area where I was bent over double in pain with tissues over both eyes and tears streaming. Luckily, a nurse noticed and asked if I was alright. When I explained I couldn't see and was in agony she kindly took me into a room with another nurse where they ascertained I'd had a reaction. I was taken back to the same optician who's attitude had changed when she got the fact I was in agony & she had to get a consultant. This is the first time I've been to Pinderfields, it will be the last. Ridiculous waiting times and a member of staff who's lucky she's still got her teeth. A complaints form is on its way.
