What I liked
i was treated on abbot ward for what was supposed to be an overnigt stay , but turned into a four night stay due to complecations, but i must say that the saff on abbot ward were very proffessional and treated me with dignety and respect, [as i am a large lady, and i was going to have a general anesthetic, and i was totally terrafied of what was going to happen to me ! ]..nothing was too much trouble for them even though they did seem to be constantly rushed off their feet..and several nurses did at times go above and beond the call of duty..well done ladies, keep it up, and lastly i give thanks to my gynaecology consultant [mr gie] whos bedside manner was very reassuring..thank you.
What could be improved
only a little minor grumble, i never recieved a consultation with an aneathatist before i went down for my surgery, and with having weight issues, and not knowing what to expect from my 1st general anesthetic i was absolutely terrafied..
also...i found that i felt that perhaps tea was served a litle to early for my liking then, it was acup of tea around 8pm and that was it till 7.30ish the next morning, a little too long to wait i think..it would be nice to offer a drink later on to people who do struggle to go to sleep early.
