"I'm really sorry I chose to come here for help"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

I haven't eaten enything in over two days... But for the last 20 hours i've been waiting for help with my stomach pain. I wasn't alowed to eat or drink in case they are ready for an ultrasound. That was supposed to happen last evening but it didn't. Ok they promised that it would happen today at 8 o'clock and it's now half nine and they still don't have a time for when it will happen. I am really hungry and really thirsty by now, but everybody seems to be having a laugh on the hallway.. I came to A&E because I had an emergency... I think i pretty much healed by myself by now. I'm really tempted to just go home and deal with what ever i have with internet help... It would be faster!

We are continually trying to improve our service to patients and the quality of our emergency assessments but apologise that on this ocassion, you did not receive the standard of care you should have. If you would like to discuss your concerns then please contact me, John Fletcher, Senior Matron for the emergency department, or Amanda Morrice, Clinical Director for the emergency department on 01634 830000 x3847 or email john.fletcher@medway.nhs.uk or amanda.morrice@medway.nhs.uk
