Over the years I have visited many different hospitals. From what I had seen in those, I wasn't expecting much in the way of care. What I actually found at the Heatherwood day surgery clinic, was a complete surprise. The staff, especially the nurses, were attentive, good natured with an excellent splash of humour thrown in to help put your mind at rest. I was particularly impressed with the time they took in explaining my operation. It was an unusual operation, one they clearly don't deal with often, yet someone had taken the time to research the correct information from the internet, to show me Despite the operation, the staff managed to put me at compete ease and by the time I was leaving, I felt relaxed and happy. If it wasn't such a strange comment to make on a hospital stay, I might even have gone as far as saying 'i'd enjoyed' myself. The room itself seemed clean and light. One minor comment is that I did find myself wandering around aimlessly, looking for the unit before eventually being pointed to it. Perhaps some better placed signage is needed or perhaps I was just missing them. Special thanks to the Nurses and the well-humoured anaesthetist on call on the 2nd June 2013. Many thanks
