I went to the A&E on a Sunday morning and waited less than a hour before being visited, which I believe is pretty good. I've been looked after in a very appropriate and professional manner by the majority of the medical staff, especially considering the circumstances (A&E on the weekend is obviously busy). They transferred me a couple of days after to the orthopaedic dept in order to get surgery and I was impressed by the quality of care and assistance. The room was clean- cleaners came at least twice a day, and the nurses very friendly. Perhaps I would have liked more interaction with the doctors, but they did answer all the questions I had. My previous experiences of Newham General Hospital weren't good (in 2007 and 2008) when my wife was in the maternity ward. But I have to say that they have improved drastically since and the quality of service is now good.
