In January or February, I had an MRI. All went well. The results were explaiined to me 3rd March. My GP/Consultant referred me to the neurology department because I have a tumour in my spind that is causing me so much pain that I can barely walk. After waiting several weeks, I phoned and was told the doctor was on holiday and when he would come back. I waited until after that time, and finally called again and asked for an appointment. I was told over a month ago that someone would be in touch, and here we are another month later, and I still don't even have a clue when I am going to be seen. I am in such pain that I have to crawl to get to the loo at night at home sometimes. I am limping and were it not for subtantial doses of (morphine) and now oxycodone, I could not even function. I find this incredibly unprofessional and uncaring. How am I supposed to have any confidence in a hospital and its doctors when they cleraly don't care enough to even follow up on referrals? This is very poor management, and it's no wonder the NHS is in trouble. If I had received the care I have been begging for for almost a year, no doubt a tremendous amount of money on GP visits and medication could have been prevented. This is horrible. If I had a job, instead of volunteering at CAB, I would have lost it by now due to inability to perform my work. I will try to complete the sections below as well as I can to conform to your platform. Thank you, Kate Carreaux
