"Great care when my operation went wrong"

About: Castle Hill Hospital / Audiology Central and Eastern Cheshire PCT Hull Royal Infirmary / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I had a gastric bypass operation in Hull but sadly I did not know a lot about it. This was due to internal bleeding which resulted in me having to be transferred to the Castle Hill Hospital's ITU. Although under heavy sedation and taking some time to come round, it was then that I realised how marvelous the NHS is. The staff were wonderful and made the long distance from my home seem quite insignificant. I also have to say that my local Primary Trust (purchasing dept head) did a first class job in the required last minute transport arrangements to get me home. Which just goes to show when all pull together stress levels can be dramatically reduced.

Dear 'Kevano',

Thank you for your positive comments about your experiences at Castle Hill Hospital.

We have passed them on to our colleagues at the trust and asked them to ensure they are passed on to the staff involved.

NHS Hull is the organisation responsible for deciding how much money is spent on local health services (also known as commissioning), ensuring those services are of high quality and meet local needs.

Thank you again for taking the time to feedback to us about the services you received.
