"what dignity?"

About: Kingston Hospital

I had need today to visit the radiology dept for an x ray. As a 71 year old woman in considerable arthritic pain I did not expect to be treated by a much younger male radiographer. Nor did I expect to have to undress and wear unsuitable theater gowns that fit where they touched and covered nothing, only to have to pass through a waiting room full of men to get to the treatment room. This experience has left me feeling that as a consumer of the NHS I do not matter. What appears to be more important is throughput numbers and ticking boxes. How sad that a health service that I was proud to serve in all my working life has come to this. Whatever happened to the patients charter???
