"Fractured calcaneum - great care and attention"

About: Hemel Hempstead Hospital

I visited the Urgent Care unit on the 15th of February 2014 after falling through a wooden ladder. Although the wait was significant - over 4 hours, it was a Saturday afternoon and probably one of the most busy times of the day. From the staff at reception, the X ray team and especially the lovely attentive nurse who cast my fracture and demonstrated how to use crutches, the service was faultless. I also liked the fact that my injury was explained to me and what to expect in terms of follow up appointments.

Thank you for taking the time to let us have feedback about the care you received from our urgent care centre (UCC) at Hemel Hempstead Hospital and for giving us a five star rating. I'd like to start by apologising for the delay in you being seen. It is very unusual for it to take this long, but it can on occasions. I am of course very pleased to hear that you were happy with your care and the support you received from different members of the department. I have passed your kind comments on to the different teams you mentioned and I know they will be pleased. Thank you again for your feedback. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need to.
