I went to my local doctors as I was having pains in my knee due to injuring it at football. They sent me for an x-ray which i was informed was standard practice which i knew was a waste of time but an understanable precaution.
Once the x-ray results came in (so far 6 weeks in) it showed nothing - i was then finally referred for an MRI scan in the 1st week of october - this i was told would take about 6-8 weeks.
Come the first week of december i called only to find that they had lost all my information. I then had to chase both my gp and the MRI centre to ensure that they had information. Finally i have been invited for a scan - on the 12th March. This means that by the time i get the results it will be nearly 8 months to even begin to find out what is wrong with it. bear in mind that i am 32 and this gives me grief when i walk more than a mile or so.
Honestly, for the amount of money i pay each month towards the nhs i cannot believe how poor the service is.
"How long is it reasonable to wait for an MRI scan?"
