"My therapist was kind, considerate and supportive at all times"

About: Inclusion Matters Sefton

(as the patient),

My health professional carers recommended me to Inclusion Matters service. I agreed to go, not really knowing what to expect although it had been courteously explained to me.

I arrived in a complete mess and began treatment quite quickly. I had deep chronic depression and did not know which way to turn, or what to do. Inclusion Matters not only provided me with the tools to tackle my problems/illness, but they taught me how to apply and use them in my life to take control.

Five months later, I cannot say my depression has gone but I have ways to deal with it and know what to do should the symptoms present themselves again. And I have methods of keeping control over it too.

My therapist was kind, considerate and supportive at all times. She was empathetic without feeling the need to divulge her own person story, so, I felt the time spent with her was spent on me.

My treatment ended and it was down to me to say when, really. I felt control enough to make that decision and I was informed that the service was there should I need it again.

Response from Elizabeth Forrest, CBT Therapist, Inclusion Matters

Dear 'Pennies348',

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback for us on Patient Opinion.

I'm pleased to hear that treatment has given you some tools to help tackle depression and hope that you will continue to put these into practice now that the sessions have ended.

I hope you feedback will encourage others who are facing difficulties in their life to access treatment from our service.

I wish you all the best for the future,
