My 87 year old mother was admitted to Pinderfields hospital following a fall which resulted in a broken leg. She underwent surgery for the break and also surgery for cosmetic repair. She was in hospital from 7 September 2013 for 2 months, followed by some respite care in a home. She has been complaining of a lump on the leg since she was discharged. District nurses visit her regularly and last week decided to lance the lump. A metal staple was found to be inside her leg.
