I have a congenital heart condition and asked to be transferred to RB from King's. I have had an excellent service from the doctor and his team who have persevered with clinical procedures until my heart is now functioning at it's best in 10 years. The nurses were very clear with their preoperative and post operative care ensuring I made a good recovery. The cleaning was to a very good standard and i noted the checks were thorough too. The outpatients could be better organised and use modern computerised waiting systems to keep patients aware of how long they will be waiting. I would still like to see a return to the old Matron / Sister style of ward management as the nurses seemed to get little support and direction. The food wasn't great, but the subsidised canteen is VFM and lots of food shops nearby if you've got a caring wife like me! The Royal Brompton is the NHS at it's best! Many thanks.
