"Phone lines have a serious problem. follow up..."

About: Queen Charlotte's Hospital

I called the antenatal clinic at 8.30am as soon as they opened can some explain to me why i am still on hold at 9.30am if i have been the next in line since 8.30am? This is not a line to speak to a consultant or a crisis line. It is a booking line. You should be able to call the line and a maximum of 10 minutes be off it. Why does it take so long to schedule an appointment. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. The mid-wife i met for my first appointment is the only reason i have not asked for my hospital to be changed.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS trust is concerned to read of your experience. The antenatal clinic at Queen Charlottes & Chelsea hospital has experienced a high number of calls at a time when the hospital IT system has migrated to a new improved system. To manage the number of calls and to ensure that calls are answered in a timely manner, additional staff have been allocated to the antenatal clinic. We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced .
