"The NHS is not doing enough to help my dad"

My dad was admitted to the Royal Gwent Hospital in November 2013 with acute pancreatitis. He was very ill and in intensive care and high dependency for 2 weeks. We were told he may not survive but thankfully he pulled through. The staff were excellent in these two wards with plenty of information about my dad's condition being given to us. My dad also suffers from angina and is awaiting a pacemaker.

Since my dad's recovery from acute pancreatitis, in which the cause was never found, my dad has been in and out of hospital at least once a week. We usually have to call for an emergency ambulance to take him, as he is in severe pain from his chest to his groin. He has lots of morphine to stop the pain and then once he is comfortable he gets discharged and the cause of his severe pain is never found out!

Now and again he will get to stay in hospital for a couple of days for more scans and blood tests but still no answers. Due to the frequency of his emergency stays in hospital, I would expect explanations from staff on the many wards that he gets admitted to as to why this is happening but we are not getting any answers and no communication. Very often his notes are not looked at, so staff do not realise the history and that he was only in a couple of days previously with the same or similar complaint.

I have put in a complaint with the NHS in Feb 2014 and I have been told that the matter is still being investigated. I run my own business from home but due to the frequency of me having to call an ambulance for my dad my business is suffering. I am my dad's main carer and he lives with me. We feel that we are just going around in circles with not help and no answers from the NHS! My dad, my family and myself are all suffering as we feel we cannot go out anywhere just in case my dad is ill and needs an ambulance, as this happens at least one a week. My dad needs more tests and the NHS I feel are not doing enough for him.
