In feb 2003, I was admitted to SGH with placenta previa at 21 wks pregnant.
The staff in SGH were amazing. Living 2hrs drive from Glasgow and being separated from my 2 yr old son, and being told I had to stay in hospital until full gestation, I was petrified. The midwives and my consultant put me at ease, giving me a chalet at weekends so my husband and son could stay.
In mid may 2003, I gave birth to my daughter 4 weeks early, via c section. I suffered a massive haemorrhage, resulting in me having a hyserectomy. I was taken to SLTU, where again I received outstanding care.
The midwives and auxiliary nurses on ward 47 were amazing. Dr Stewart Pringle, well words cannot describe, this man saved my life and I will never forget that.
In June 2003, I was able to return home. I will never forget what they all did for me, and I was blessed to have 2 healthy kids and I'm here to tell the story. People should be grateful for life and good health.
