"Awful Pharmacy Support"

The pharmacy/dispensary is wholly unsupportive of the otherwise excellent care given in this hospital. The dispensary staff were short bordering on rude to Nurses who chased late delivery of prescription and on the day of departure the Doctor wrote a prescription at 0930 and we were told It would take an hour or two for the drugs to arrive, and then we could go. 4 hours later - still no sign. Nurse sent us home and said come back after 1800. Returned to hospital ( more exorbitant car parking fees-that's another issue) and no sign of prescription - told to wait as shouldn't be long. An hour later -still no sign. Kindly nurse chased up on phone - clearly from the end of the conversation I witnessed the response from dispensary was totally unhelpful. Eventually, a member of the ward staff went down in person and retrieved drugs. Prescription to delivery 10 hours - woeful! A great big thank to all the lovely, hard working nurses, but a great big oh dear, oh dear for the dispensary. Probably not the fault of the individuals but management action required urgently.
