"Pleasant and reassuring"

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

I came in for an endoscopy, and was rather nervous because I have a strong gag reflex (so knew I would probably need sedation) but absolutely hate needles (due to some bad experiences in the past). The reception staff were as friendly and courteous as one could wish them to be, and the nurses and the doctor were very reassuring throughout, and did their best to minimise the inevitable unpleasantness of the procedure. Although the needle was a little painful, it was well within what I could cope with, and the amount of sedation was judged extremely well - I remember virtually nothing of the actual procedure but do just about remember them finishing wheeling me into the recovery area. Once I had "come round" properly, and had a sandwich and a drink, a nurse explained what had been found and also what few problems I might experience over the next twelve hours. All in all, my experience was extremely positive.

We are very pleased to hear that your experience was a positive one. Hospitals can be scary places, so it was great to read that our staff did what they could to put you at ease. Thank you for taking time to share your experience and we will pass your feedback on to the team.
