"Paedeatric care for 4 year old with broken arm"

About: Torbay Hospital

My 4 year old daughter broke her arm on Easter Monday evening and from being taken in my ambulance from Dartmouth to Torbay we were impressed by the experience. She was seen quickly in A&E and X-rayed speedily and saw an orthopedic consultant very quickly. There was a delay in waiting for a porter to transfer us up to the Louise Carey ward, but the A&E was very busy. Lara was put in a YPC unit as the small children unit was full but nonetheless the care was excellent. The staff on the ward were great with her and the care of a very high standard. Amey who was her primary nurse was really kind and gentle with her and very caring. Thanks to everyone on the ward and the orthopedic team who treated Lara and us so well
