"Long term care"

We have been coming to QMC for past nearly 6 years now to paediatric cystic fibrosis (CF) clinic. We travel from lincoln to receive what we felt was the best card for my sons condition after lincoln hospital let us down greatly. I do feel that some members of my sons care team at QMC are good at their jobs, and they have made what are usually very stressful days spent at the hospital slightly easier mainly because of their professional and personal care qualities. If it weren't for them, we would have given up on QMC much sooner. However, recently, as in the last few years, the cystic fibrosis paediatric team has rapidly deteriorated in its level of care towards my son. Most recently, a physiotherapist in the clinic has literally refused to speak to me about the effects of passive smoking. I do not believe that someone who can point blank refuse to discuss such important matters that could potentially deatroy a childs respiratory system should be employed in the NHS. Whether she refuses to talk about this, or I am discussing it with someone who is under qualified, I do however remain certain that two female members including one nurse are both extremely abrupt almost rude towards my son and I. This has really not changed over past few years. I cannot reach the nurse (who's contact number we were given to call when needed which we have on the odd occasion as do all families of children with CF under care at QMC) and she has on several occasions been rather condescending over the phone and had quite a nasty attitude towards me, I have since felt it necessary to put in a complaint about this and have yet to receive an apology. The physiotherapist on the other hand will not speak to me in clinic(!!) she ignores me when I talk to her, its beyond absurd now and i have no jdea why she does this other than the fact that she does not 'like' me? This is absolutely awful as we have to endure hours sat in a small room in clinic speaking to the various healthcare professionals, the rest of whom are very professional I might add, until we get to the named two who find it fitting to do the exact opposite to their colleagues. Only yesterday, we put up with this, we have done nothing to deserve this treatment never rude or unpleasant - we have to go every two months so we come to expect this now. So sadly, or maybe not so sadly, we have now come to the decision that a change or fresh start is overdue for reasons that I have no control over and that I will no longer tolerate from 'professionals' who should surely be putting aside their discrimination and instead performing a duty of care towards my son which they have consistently failed to do. They have let us down tremendously.
