"Why is it ok to sit in A&E with a poorly baby for 5 hours?"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

My daughter was asked to attend Paediatric A&E at an assigned time 6pm for previous tests results and consequent infection in baby. She was seen at 11pm.

It took 1 hour and 7 attempts to secure a antibiotic canula. She was previously told not to go to her doctors with her prem baby, further, not to shop in supermarkets with baby because of his vulnerability to infections.

My question is, why then is it ok to sit in A&E with a poorly baby for 5 hours?
