"Awful, would not wish on my worst enemy"

About: Prospect Park Hospital

This is by far the worst hospital I've ever had the misfortune of staying in. It was dirty the staff spent the whole day in the office ignoring and neglecting patients. Hardly got to see a doctor only on admission and discharge which was 6 weeks in between. Food was disgusting I lost 2 stone. I didn't feel safe. I was bored there was nothing to do. Not surprisingly I felt worse and worse during my time there. Glad to be out now. I will be making a formal complaint.

Hello,

Thank you for your posting and please accept my apologies for the delay in responding. We are sorry to see that you were unhappy with your care at Prospect Park Hospital and hope that your complaint achieved a staisfactory outcome. The safety of our patients is paramount. I will share your comments with senior staff for review. From May 2015, a 7 day therapy service was introduced on the Wards at Prospect Park Hospital. This means that Occupational Therapy input is available during the evenings and at weekends. This will provide a more stimulating environment for patients.A business case has been submitted by staff to enhance this further.

Your comments relating to cleanliness and poor food have been duly noted.Every year, the Trust conducts a Patient Led Assessment of the Care environment (PLACE). The assessment looks at privacy, dignity, wellbeing, food, cleanliness and general maintenance in areas used by the public. We use the outcomes from these assessments to maintain a high quality service to patients. If you would like to be involved in a future assessment, please contact me. Your experience will be invaluable during this process.

If I can assist in any way, please contact me directly.

Yours Sincerely,

Trevor Lyalle
