"Hospital Feedback"

I feel that pebble lodge are very unorganised and have an appauling lack of communication with each other which has often caused inconsistency and double standards. I feel very stronlgy on my part that I never had any involvement in decisions and as this made me very panicked and stressed, I was very surprised at this as I would have thought that psych unitis are used to working with people that become anxious. However, I would like to thank the nursing and educational staff because they definitely helped me through difficulties when I felt I couldn't go to any of the other staff.

Thank you for your recent feedback posted on NHS choices. Effective communication and participation in your care are very important to the team at Pebble Lodge and I am sorry if you felt this was not the case during your admission. All young people at Pebble Lodge are encouraged to develop a portfolio that contains all their care plans and strategies to support their recovery, this is co-produced with their key nursing team. We aim to encourage young people to participate in their care as much as possible by attending ward round each week or provide written feedback to the team. We recognise that a young person may not always wish to attend ward round and therefore we try to provide other forums for communication such as 1:1 time spent with your key nursing team, the community team or the opportunity to meet with the advocate on the unit each week or more regularly if required. I am glad that you felt that the nursing and education staff were there to support you during the difficult times and that they were approachable when you needed them. I do however acknowledge there are times when communication is less effective and this can lead to frustration, I would be happy to discuss the concerns you have raised in your post. Please contact me at Pebble Lodge if you wish to discuss these issues in more detail, we could also arrange for the advocate to be present to support you if this was helpful.
