"Upset by terrible service at Warwick Hospital"

About: Warwick Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

My father in law waited 9 hours to get the X-ray and blood tests he needed to rule out a serious pulmonary condition. The staff were rude and in attentive especially on Nicholas Ward. I saw elderly patients ignored, whilst the nurses on duty chatted around the nurse station.

Queues of patients were left on trolleys outside the X-ray department and the system seemed very inefficient. I was horrified at it all and feel very let down.

If I was the CEO of Warwick hospital, I would want to better understand what happens in my hospital on a Saturday and why the service is so poor. I think that this is an endemic system problem, compounded by rude staff. Please do something to improve it.

Response from South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust

I am sorry to hear about your experience of the care received by your father in law and would like to have more details so that I can investigate.

Unfortunately I am unable to discuss his care with you due to patient confidentiality therefore it would be great if your father in law could contact me or alternatively I will only be able to discuss with you more general areas, not specific to his care.

Please send these details to communications@swft.nhs.uk
