I attended Darlington Hospital for an induced labour earlier this week due to a high risk development in my pregnancy. Alas complications occurred and I delivered my baby under emergency C section. My partner and I would like to commend all staff involved in our care from ward 61/62 through to labour ward. Throughout the experience we were treated with dignity and respect and always involved in decisions about my care. The staff in maternity services were at all times caring, compassionate and professional. There was some evidence that staffing levels were low on one of the days but the staff just worked harder. Particular mention should go to the Midwifery Care Assistants who assist with breast feeding their patience and knowledge were invaluable. Thank you to all the staff: nurses, HCA's, doctors, consultants, anaesthetists not to mention the background staff who rarely get a mention you deserve recognition for your dedication and hard work - thank you.
