"Top quality care and service"

I recently underwent day surgery for my elbow. Prior to this I had an appointment with the consultant/surgeon. I arrived a little early for my initial appointment and had brought a book for the normal long wait I was expecting. I had barely finished the initial paperwork when I was called in (ahead of my actual appointment - unheard of in previous visits to hospital). The consultant was clear and efficient and I was out an headed home within 20 minutes of entering the hospital. The surgery itself was booked for 3 months, but I was lucky to catch a cancellation only a month later. I arrived at 7am for the operation and was met by a charming nurse who explained what the procedure was very clearly. I again expected a long wait (I've had several other operations entailing waits of 4-7 hours), but I had problems sending a text to the person picking me up as all the pre-op procedures happened so quickly and thoroughly. I had my pressure and temperature checked, a visit by the sister to confirm the details of the op and get my signature, a visit by the anaesthetist, a visit by the surgeon - all within 20 minutes. I was lucky to be first on the list of operations which went very well and was out of the hospital by 10.30. Overall the experience was wonderful at all levels and I will certainly be choosing this hospital (even though it is some way from my nearest one) if ever I need to go into hospital again (and I have a choice). I highly recommend the hospital and highly commend and am very grateful to the staff.
