"Why do I never seem to get the right help?"

About: Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Crisis resolution

(as the patient),

I have depression and BPD. It makes me want to kill myself. My support worker phoned the crisis resolution and I waited 4 hours for a call from them. The call was not helpful. Told her I had a learning problem and that I find it hard to talk. She said if I'm like that then talking to strangers over the phone is not gonna help. Was told to go to A&E if I needed help. She said she was gonna ring my support workers in the morning but never did.

Why do I never seem to get the right help? Was told by the crisis resolution team that there's never anything they can do to help me. Was on the phone for 12 mins to her and I felt she didn't let me try to talk. She said I wasn't answering her questions but I was. It feels like they say anything to get you off the phone fast.

Response from Andrew Howorth, Head of Patient Experience, Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

I am so very sorry to read your posting, and the way in which you have not found any support or help. To make matters worse your posting has not been responded to, and I must apologise for this as well. We have had a change in the responsibility for replying to postings and somehow yours was missed, no doubt adding to your sense that you are not being supported.

If you still feel that you are not getting the support that you need please contact our PALS team on 0800 0525 790, or email pals.lypft@nhs.net

I do hope that you are now getting the right support and wish you well

With kind regards

Andrew
