What I liked
I liked the friendliness of the staff. I was a day case operation patient and was there all by myself and they let a trainee nurse stay with me most of my stay there who was very friendly and helpful, she put my mind at rest and was there waiting for me when i woke up from recovery. The anaethetist (i think thats how its spelt) was very professional and put all my worries at bay, I had heard very bad things about churchill hospital so was quite worried about having an op there but when i got there i was made to feel welcome and comfortable.
Well done to all the staff.
What could be improved
Cleanliness on the ward was very good, but when i went to the toilet on the ward after my op i was quite shocked as there was blood on the floor in there which worried me with all the infections you can get from hospitals that arent kept to a highly clean standard. I did mention this to a nurse who was with me and she said she would get someone to clean it up but in the 12 hours i was there not one cleaner went into the toilet, they went around the ward just not the toilet.
Anything else?
they need to make their map of the hospital clearer as i went in the way it said i should but the reception told me i had to go to the other side of the hospital.
But other than that i felt quite relaxed considering the circumstances that i was there for.
10/10 for the nurses and doctors etc
10/10 cleanliness if ward
0/10 cleanliness in toilet.
10/10 overall experience of my stay there.
