"Patronising senior nursing staff."

On the 6th March, I took my 16 year old son, to the Haywood. He had hurt his wrist, while playing rugby at school, earlier in the day. We arrived at the walk in centre at 4:30 and patiently waited our turn. (We were not informed that the x-ray department would close at 6, if we had, we may have gone to the city hospital). When we were finally seen by the senior nurse, she was obviously very stressed by her work load. Which I was sympathetic with. My son explained that there wasn't one incident were he felt severe pain, while playing rugby but now he could not move his hand. I tried to explain that my son had an extremely high pain threshold. I was then patronisingly asked if he was my only child. I was sure he had broken his wrist. On investigation she asked if it hurt above his thumb he said no at first but I explained that he had told me that it did. So she then said that if it did he would need a plaster on for 10 days. They did plaster the wrist, which relieved my son's pain he returned the next day for the x-Ray, the same senior nurse then decided because the x-Ray was inconclusive he couldn't have broken it because he would definitely know when he had done it. He was discharged without follow up and no plaster. After a few weeks still unable to fully use his wrist I took my son to the GP. He had another X-ray. His wrist is broken he is now in plaster. No matter how many children I have a Mother knows her child
