"Why must my granddaughter wait? "

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Maternity

(as a relative),

Recently, my granddaughter unfortunately lost her baby so had to go to hospital, and was told to go back the following Sunday for a scan. She waited and waited only to be told that nobody had booked a scan, the Dr that was there on Sunday was very good with her but at the end of the day she had just lost her baby and she now has to go back again for her scan. Surely this is far too long? I would like to know why when we have a perfectly good hospital in High Wycombe we can't use it. Stoke Mandeville is obviously over stretched and some thing needs to be done to address this.

Dear Jill,

Thank you for taking the time to comment. We are really sorry to read about your granddaughter's experience at Stoke Mandeville hospital when she attended for her scan but thank you for your feedback.

Although we value your comment here, if you haven't done so already, please can you also contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)? This service is dedicated to hearing patient opinions and they will be able to discuss this matter in more detail with you and your granddaughter and take any action required. PALS are contactable on 01296 316042 or pals@buckshealthcare.nhs.uk

Kind regards
